The Wellington Branch of the Kingsmen have a Catch Up Meeting

Just a block from Parliament in downtown Wellington a few weeks back (19/05/2023), a solid collection of Kingsmen now based in and around the Capital gathered to share a few beers and tell some old stories.

Joined by President Chris George who made the trip North, the team reminisced about the old days, recollected a few close sporting contests of years gone by and exchanged one or two stories about teachers and rectors of the past.

It was great to have the opportunity to catch up after what were, after all, far too many decades to count.

Adding to the prestige of the late afternoon soiree, some bloke claiming to be Sam Hunt turned up and recited two or three self-created poems that were enjoyed by all of the patrons of the Thistle Inn. Actually, he looked more like Boy George!

Everyone agreed that we won’t leave it so long before the next gathering of Capital City Kingsmen.
