AUBIN Heather
– 1997 1999-1999
From the 1997 School Magazine
At the end ofl 997 King’s will lose one ofits most experienced staff members when Heather Aubin retires. It was with real disappointment that we, especially in the English Department, heard of her decision to join husband Paul on a container ship bound for Germany next February! They are to spend most of 1998 exploring Britain and the continent and their holiday is well deserved.
Heather has been an extremely hardworking staff member with her primary responsibility being the teaching of English and French to all levels. She has a wealth of teaching experience, including a stint in the United States some years ago, and this will be difficult to replace. Apart from her teaching duties, Heather has also found the time to coach basketball teams, manage the weekly school council meetings, organise the annual Work Day, supervise lost property, and at the end of the year, arrange for our regalia for senior prize-giving. Also the Ladies’ social activities will need to find a new organiser.
As if the loss of her professional abilities was not enough, we will also be losing a valued friend whose good nature and sense of humour will really be missed.
Hopefully, we will see Heather back at King’s in some capacity in 1999, but in the meantime we trust that she and Paul have a happy, fulfilling time on their travels. Bon Voyage!
1999 – Heather left to teach at St Hildas Collegiate
