Teachers Aide, First Aid
From 1988 School Magazine
Born under an Apple Tree near Wakefield in England, or so her mother adamantly claims, was an unusual start in life for Deanna Girling. She came to New Zealand twenty years ago “just to have a quick look around” and she still hasn’t returned. Prior to coming to New Zealand she trained as a State Registered Nurse at Scarborough Hospital and subsequently has nursed at Gore, Auckland and Middlemore hospitals. Deanna is married with four children and is employed at King’s as a teacher’s aide. Her practical nursing training has been put to good use in the school’s first aid team. Deanna enjoys sewing, handcrafts, reading and walking with her family.
